Support Little Hands As They Grow
Fine motor skills give us the ability to manipulate objects and co-ordinate our hands. They are vital skills for a musician. Fine motor development starts at birth and continues through the elementary school years. Supporting your child in their music education involves giving them access to activities which naturally help them to enhance these skills. These are my top four activities for Mini Music Makers.

These four activities encourage the following movements:

  • Arm and wrist rotation

  • Pinching and picking up

  • Grasping control and strength

  • Sensitivity of movement

  • Co-ordination and accuracy

  • Whole arm and shoulder movement

  • Individual finger strength
